This piece was painted from a series of reference photos taken on a drive with my daughter, Meg. We were traveling up through the islands in Vermont, and were lucky enough to have tracked this beautiful sunset from its beginning. We pulled off to the side of the road for this final glimpse.
In an effort to look at something other than the mountains of snow that remain in our yard, I've decided it's time to fill my easel with thoughts of warmer temperatures. This is a view of Crystal Lake in Gilmanton Iron Works, NH. Our family camp is to the right on the distant shore.
Growing up I spent much of my time drawing, cutting, gluing and piecing things together. I never thought of it as making art. I just knew I was having fun. While my supplies and techniques continue to change, my desire to create remains...and I'm still having fun! Thanks for taking the time to view my work.
