A little departure from the Grand Canyon for now. I just can't ignore the New England colors this time of year! This painting has a hint of gold throughout that shimmers slightly when the light hits it just right. Unfortunately, that bit of luster doesn't show on this post. Painted on paste paper, this piece is 6"x6" in size and is matted uniquely in a large frame.I had fun with it!

Raven Haven
Mixed Media on Arches Cover Paper
29" x 29"
(framed dimensions)
Private Collection
While at the Grand Canyon, Steve and I happened upon this raven. He sat perched on this branch for a very long time, turning its head this way and that just as a model might during a photo shoot. It allowed us to move quite close. I did so while snapping photo after photo. It was almost as though he was begging to be painted. I was happy to oblige!
Growing up I spent much of my time drawing, cutting, gluing and piecing things together. I never thought of it as making art. I just knew I was having fun. While my supplies and techniques continue to change, my desire to create remains...and I'm still having fun! Thanks for taking the time to view my work.
